Wedding daze?

Getting married? The Wedding Journal'sspring show takes place this weekend at City West.

Heritage lace remains a key trend, on dresses as well as in room dressing and as a chair covering, explains Wedding Journal editor Tara Craig. “There’s been a call to arms with sleeves playing a stylish role in 2012 wedding dresses, as per the Pronovias image pictured. The vintage mood continues with couples choosing to create a mismatched tea-cup and saucer mood on tables. Jewellers are remodelling memento rings belonging to mothers and grandmothers, and reusing precious metals and stones to modernise designs for the 2012 bride.”

Couples are choosing to save up for the big day, so engagements are now lasting up to three years, and when it comes to wedding lists, “cash is now king”.

Tickets for the spring show cost €10 online and €12 at the door. Entrants are put into a draw to win a wedding package worth €25,000. weddingjournalonline.com
