YAMAHA HAS unveiled the first official picture of the new FZ8 motorcycle.
According to reports from MCN magazine, “the FZ8 will replace Yamaha’s current FZ6 models as a sporty, middleweight naked, leaving the XJ6, XJ6 Diversion and the new-for-2010 XJ6 Diversion F to cater for the novice and all-rounder markets”.
The engine is believed to be unique to the FZ8 and around 800cc.
According to biking site, motorcycledaily.com, this new is “expected to be lighter, have an aluminium chassis, more sophisticated suspension, digital instrumentation and a low-exiting exhaust”.
Revision of DB7R Italian classic
A US motorcycle company has revised the Italian classic, the Bimota DB7R, to create the DB7R Diavolo Rosso.
With a carbon fibre frame and swingarm, the new version is lighter, at 164kg, has a 1,099cc Ducati 1098 engine and produces 164bhp.
It also has integrated GPS, which overlays bike telemetry with circuit maps.
Created by ArthaWorks Solutions, in California, the company plans to produce just 10 bikes, each at a cost of around $59,500 (€39,400).
So if you’re interested in splashing that much cash, you can have it tailored to your specific needs.
“We find out exactly what a customer wants from the bike, then develop a program around that,” says Elias Corey, ArthaWorks president.
