A round-up of the latest bike news in brief
Two years, two new Kawasakis
KAWASAKI HAS launched an updated new Versys motorcycle for 2010 and a revamped Z1000 for 2010.
The new Versys retains its mighty 649cc parallel twin engine with 62bhp, but the styling has changed, and it is sleeker and more refined.
It’s also been given new lights – front lights are stacked above one another and the rear light is LED.
Other minor changes include new mirrors, hand guards, heated grips and a 12-volt outlet. There is also a new front mudguard on the front.
The Z1000 is also newly styled, with a lightweight aluminium chassis, lower seat and horizontally-mounted rear shock.
The Z1000’s new 1,043cc engine has a Cool Air System, 136bhp and 81ft lb of torque.
ABS is optional and it has three colour schemes – black and silver, orange and white and metallic brown adorned with a funky snakeskin seat.
