Three years’ free road tax for Ford Focus buyers

THERE IS a brand new version of the Ford Focus on the way, but motorists still have plenty of incentive to buy the last of the old ones.

All sales of the current Ford Focus will come with three years’ free road tax. Any Focus bought by the end of March will have road tax covered until March 2014. The offer applies across the Focus range, starting with the three-door Focus Style 1.6 TDCi, available from €21,475 or €16,334 with scrappage. This model comes with air- conditioning, 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, a Quickclear windscreen and Bluetooth voice control.

Bristol Cars goes out of business

ICONIC BRITISH car manufacturer Bristol has gone into administration. As a result, 22 of the firm’s 27 members of staff are to be made redundant.

These redundancies will include all members of staff at the firm’s plant in Bristol. The company, which has been in existence since 1946, has produced hand-built sports car since then but sales dwindled in recent years.

The firm’s latest car was a 1,025bhp Dodge Viper-powered Fighter T.
