FIRST-TIME BUYERS were out in force in Lucan last weekend where Savills HOK took deposits on 30 apartments at the quirkily named Fforster Square.

Two-bedroom units costing €284,950 were the most popular buy, according to Ronan O'Driscoll who has a dozen more units at the infill scheme on Willsbrook Road to go.

Meanwhile in Baldoyle, Menolly sold 80 units at The Coast, a phase of the vast former racecourse site where prices been trimmed by up to 20 per cent.

Again two-bed apartments were popular here with young buyers snapping them up for €285,000, and no doubt hoping to rent out that extra room to help pay the mortgage.
