This Kingscroft scheme of 86 units is on Sea Road, which runs down to the windswept beach which is an important breeding ground for Little Tern.

With Kilcoole's proximity to the Dart at Greystones and to the N11, young families will be tempted to move down from the city.

Sherry FitzGerald New Homes is handling sales of the 20 houses on offer, which include two three-bed semis.

Prices range from €500,000 for two three-bedroom semis of 116sq m (1,248sq ft).

Four-bedroom detached houses of 123sq m (1,325sq ft) cost from €625,000.

Larger four-bedroom detached houses with 167sq m (1,800sq ft) of space are priced from €780,000.

The 10 largest four-bedroom houses have individual entrances off Sea Road.

Architect Paul Duignan & Associates has designed the houses at Holywell along traditional lines, with timber windows, full brick frontages and private front and back gardens.

Front gardens are enclosed by a low brick wall and include driveways. Central heating is gas.

Interiors are finished to a strong specification, with interlinking sitting and diningrooms, smart oak-look panelled kitchens with a full range of appliances. Wall tiling is also standard and wardrobes are included.

The 10 large four-bedroom houses and two three-bed semis are almost completed and will be ready to move into from two months onwards.

Standard four-bedroom detached houses are scheduled for completion in around six months time.
