The Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, was in Drogheda last Friday to lend his support to the marketing effort for Newgrange Business Park, a 52-acre development which will have direct access to the proposed Dublin-Belfast motorway. Eight business units with a total of 56,000 sq ft have already been completed and developer Pat Fallon says the park can accommodate up to one million sq ft of buildings. The first companies include the National Car Testing Centre, CIE's main bus depot, the ESB Offices and services and Peter McAuley who designs and manufacturers high-quality kitchens and wardrobes Commercial buildings are selling at £80 per sq ft and renting at £7.50 to £9 per sq ft. Sites are making £200,000 per half acre and £350,000 an acre. The zoning allows for partial retail and storage, manufacturing and service industries.
