Pharmacy chain pays £2.7m premium for Limerick outlet

The McCabe pharmacy chain has paid key money of £2

The McCabe pharmacy chain has paid key money of £2.7 million for Cassidy's pharmacy in the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick. The high premium was primarily dictated by new EU restrictions governing the opening of new pharmacy outlets.

Cassidy's have traded in the centre since around 1973. The shop has 3,000 sq ft and is rented at £69,000 per annum. Keiron Diamond, of Ganly Walters, sold the leasehold interest by private tender for Gerrard Cassidy. Neil Bannon of Harrington Bannon advised McCabe. The Limerick acquisition will be the 15th outlet in the McCabe chain.
