UK multiple Mothercare is to open a new store next month bit the Blackrock Centre, which is owned by Superquinn. The company will be paying a rent of over £70,000 for a 3,000-square-foot unit, its ninth in the Republic. Fergus Slattery acted for Mothercare. The centre has also created a new shop of 1,800 square feet, which is to be offered to leading fashion retailers at a rent of £65,000 per annum. The restaurant, Le Coquillage, is to enlarge and refit its premises. The new outlet will have 2,200 square feet.
Wendy-Jane Catherwood, who acts as letting agent, says that Superquinn is to embark on a multi-million pound refurbishment of its supermarket to make it one of the most modern in Europe.
In the city centre, Motion Picture and McDonald restaurants are shortly to open new outlets at the ILAC shopping centre. Motion Picture will be paying a rent of £95,000 for 1,800 square feet. Meldon and Sons acted for Motion Picture.
