A LEASEHOLD bar, The Old Tavern, at Northside Shopping Centre, Coolock, Dublin 5, was sold at a Gunne auction last Thursday for £720,000. The 9,500 square foot premises are held under a 35 year lease from 1975 at a rent of £78,000 per annum. The new owner will have an option to buy out the freehold interest. The business had a turnover of £1.3 million in the 12 months up to July, 1996.
In Co Louth, the Crowing Cock bar, Castlebellingham, was withdrawn at auction at £1.1 million and is under negotiation with John Younge. The business had a nett turnover £1.5 million last year.
