THERE ARE CONSERVATORIES and then there are conservatories such as the one at Ross, Waltham Terrace which is made from hardwood by Hampton Conservatories (01-855 1512).

This one is in an orangery style and incorporates classical-style columns between doors, windows and on corners combined with Georgian-style glazing that is sympathetic to the existing architecture of the house.

There are two double roof vents, electrically operated with thermostatic controls complete with rain sensors which are essential for good ventilation.

The timber is hardwood mahogany, and is factory sprayed in Georgian White which achieves a soft ambience. The approximate cost is €75,000 plus VAT.
