D15 from €265,000: Two members of the Lynam family are launching starter homes at Latchford, Castaheany this week, writes Kate McMorrow.

Apartments and duplexes go on sale today at Latchford, an established development near Clonsilla and Blanchardstown at Castaheany, Dublin 15.

Sherry FitzGerald New Homes is the selling agent for this first release of apartments and duplexes by developer EP Lynam at Latchford. These are good-sized and are designed to maximise natural light. Heating is by gas.

On offer in this phase are eight two-bedroom apartments of 66sq m (720sq ft) from €265,000 and seven 102sq m (1,100sq ft) three-bedroom duplexes priced from €330,000. A total of 170 units will eventually be built in this section of Latchford.

Rustic brick exteriors give an attractive traditional look in an era when stark contemporary blocks are the norm. Two-bedroom apartments with small terraces are at ground floor level, with the duplexes above. Sit-out timber balconies open off the duplex living areas.

Inside, ceiling heights of 9ft add to the spacious feel. Latchford is down the road from Blanchardstown and there are regular bus routes, with train stations at Clonsilla and Coolmine.

Previous schemes by EP Lynam Properties include Limelawn in Clonsilla, Delwood in Castleknock and Ashington and Riverston Abbey on the Navan Road. Viewing starts at noon today and extends through to Sunday next.
