Property investor Robin Power, who owns over a dozen houses on the seafront between Blackrock and Killiney, is disposing of this interesting four-bedroom semi-detached house on the sea at Dalkey.

It is expected to make over £1 million at a Lisney auction next month.

Mr Power bought number 2 Castle Place, along with its neighbour, Number 1, two years ago for approximately £900,000.

He then sold off the adjoining house, and carried out some refurbishment work to Number 2. It is now being sold with planning permission for a substantial extension.

As it stands, this is a large and comfortable family home with a very big garden that runs down to the sea and gives direct access to the shore. The house, which was recently rented out, has a new kitchen and is freshly decorated, but otherwise has changed very little since it last came on the market in 1997. There are three interconnecting reception rooms, two of which have floor to ceiling windows looking out to sea.

There is also a small study with floor to ceiling bookshelves. The kitchen has antique style pine units and granite worktops.

Upstairs, the main bedroom faces the sea and a partition wall dividing it from a large en suite shower room. The remaining three bedrooms share a family bathroom.

There is planning permission for an extension of around 3,000 sq. ft.

Auction date: June 3rd.

Selling agent: Lisney.
