DUBLIN Corporation's planners are considering a planning application for a concert, dancing and exhibition centre at 34/35 Lower Ormond Quay and 29/31 Great Strand Street, Dublin 1. The application by Maple West Catering provides for the conversion of the building from a shop, auction room and storage to a bar and restaurant fronting on to Great Strand Street.

In south Dublin, Sorohan Builders have sought planning permission for 55 houses on a site at rockford Manor School at Stradbrook Road, Blackrock. The site includes the Rockford Manor buildings which are to be retained.
