Ciarán Haughey first to sell his slice of former Abbeville lands

Home of the son of former taoiseach Charlie Haughey has been placed on the market through Goffs Country Property

Millstream on Baskin Lane, home to Ciarán Haughey, son of former taoiseach Charlie Haughey, has been placed on the market through Goffs Country Property. No surprise there considering the estate agency is headed up by his sister, Éimear Mulhern, and while Millstream is advertised as "price undisclosed", it is believed to have an asking price of €2 million – making it the ninth most expensive house for sale on Dublin's northside.

Built on the edge of the Haughey family’s famous Abbeville estate, Millstream occupies a substantial site with accommodation extending to 321sq m (3,455sq ft). The two storey house was built in 1996 and upgraded and extended in 2007. There are a number of reception rooms, including a custom-built Christoff home bar. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and four bathrooms, including a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressingroom.

The gardens are idyllic, with nearly two acres of rolling lawns, enjoying scenic views over the lands of the family’s former home. Naturally, given the Celtic Helicopters boss’s business interests, there’s a private helipad.

Ciaran is the first of the Haughey offspring to put their slice of Abbeville on the market, with all three of his siblings having built multi-million euro properties on the former Abbeville lands. His sister Éimear controversially constructed a contemporary mansion next door to Millstream in 2008 following a lengthy planning saga; politician Sean Haughey, lives two doors up, while his other brother Conor lives on the Malahide side of Abbeville's lands, near Streamstown Lane.
