A newcomer to the Dublin art auctions scene – a brave move in the current economic climate – is west Cork auctioneer Morgan O’Driscoll, who is holding his first Irish art auction in the capital.

He has held viewings in Dublin before, but usually holds his auctions in Cork city or Skibbereen. O’Driscoll specialises in affordable art, with estimates generally in the hundreds or few thousand euro ranges.

The sale, in the Clyde Court (formerly Berkeley Court) Hotel, Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge takes place on Monday at 6.30pm.

Some 200 lots, including paintings by Mark O’Neill, Graham Knuttel, Brian Ballard, Arthur Maderson, John Schwatschke and Markey Robinson, as well as dozens of other artists, are on view from noon tomorrow at the hotel.
