Cillian Ó Súilleabháin of Cos Furniture (087-9518651 cosfurniture.ie) trained and worked as a mechanical engineer but wanted to start working with wood. He apprenticed himself to furniture designer Stephen O'Briain and has now gone out on his own working to commission, designing and hand-making the pieces in his Carlow workshop.
The triangular Debutante chair is made using French ash seat and has wenge legs. It measures 90cm by 66cm by 50cm and normally sells for €2,000. The first Bargain Hunter reader to call can buy it chair for €1,500.
A Courtlands corner table is made using Irish cherry and has two drawers. It measures 70 cm square. One reader can snap it up for €1,800 instead of its usual retail price of €2,250.
