PAUL BYRNE, the man behind cheap-yet-chic vintage furniture stall Retro Rumage (086-8566866) will be showing his wares this Sunday at the monthly Brocante run by Ross Suter Johnson in the Dublin Co-op building on Newmarket Square in Dublin 8. On offer will be a selection of items reduced by around 40 per cent especially for readers of The Irish Times.

A G-plan sideboard was €269 and is now €139, a 1970s tiled teak coffee table was €259 and is now €145 while a Box chair by Enzo Mari is down from €189 to €109. Byrne also has a set of four 1960s MacIntosh dining chairs reduced from €299 to €169 for the set, a cool wingback chair down from €435 to €259 that with reupholstery could stand centre stage in your room. On the accessories front there’s a red German clock (right) that was €79, now €45, a two-tone rotary telephone down from €89 to €45 and a collectible 1960s Holmegaard Gulvase vase by Otto Brauer that was €550 and is now €329.
