Quirkistuff (086-6537448 quirkistuff.com) is a new Bray-based online shop reimagining old pieces of furniture.

Run by husband and wife team Les and Sue Corbett, the company reworks seats of all kinds, upholsters old mirrors in vibrant fabrics and creates mutant metal storage units with industrial wheels.

The look is playful and the finish throughout is top-class. This 1950s mahogany art deco-style cabinet has been revitalised with matt paint. The interior has been papered in a matching wallpaper. The shelves are made of toughened glass.

It has a price tag of €270. To celebrate the launch of its new site, Quirkistuff is offering it for €189, a discount of 30%, to the first Bargain Hunter reader to call. The piece measures 114.3cm high by 76.2cm wide and 30.5cm deep.
