When was the last time you walked out of a gallery with a new skirt? The items at Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, won’t exactly be new, but members of the public are invited to help themselves. Looking at the sheer levels of waste in our consumer culture, artist Catherine Delaney has turned the gallery into a recycling centre.

Leave clothes in the “give” area, peruse the “take” section, then gaze at Pile, the sculpture Delaney is creating from unwanted clothes. Can you work out which were gifts, impulse purchases, interview shirts, lucky jeans? At the end of the exhibition, everything remaining will be distributed to local clothing charities.

Pile (give or take) by Catherine Delaney runs until April 17th, solsticeartscentre.ie
