Forget draping fringed scarves over side lamps to create a bohemian look at home – the latest way to create this ambiance is the artful layering of patterned wallpapers on patterned furniture and furnishings as per Designers Guild’s new Au Theatre collection by Christian Lacroix. Launched last week at London Design Week, Dún Laoghaire-based Brian S Nolan (briansnolan.ie) expects to have sample books in early April. Talisman Arlequin, the fabric on the sofa and chair costs €266 per linear metre. Fetiche Arlequin, the wallpaper panels, to the right and left of shot, cost €371 per metre and Paseo Canetille, the fabric on the foot cushions to the front of shot, costs €245 per metre.

This bronze door is top of the range, made of a manufactured wood composite that includes steel. The door is then sprayed in a choice of metal finishes. There are three options to choose from; bronze, pictured here in a beaten effect, silver or copper which can be treated to protect the colour or left to oxidise. The UK-based company, Urban Front, will work from architects’ drawings and can supply to Ireland. Prices for this bronze door start from about €14,200 for a door of standard size.
