Aisling’s Picks: Turn up the glow on your body moisturiser and make your mascara work harder

Fancy a Lana del Rey pout, or some colourful lip balms? Plus make the boring chore of body moisturising easier and indulge in the latest peony scented cream from L’Occitane.

Clarins

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

(€36) I know the power of Clarins self tanners; I once changed ethnicities overnight following an unfortunate overuse of their classic face tan. This however is a clever way to use your current moisturiser as a gentle self tanner and practically impossible to mess up.

Mix a few drops of the glow booster in with your regular body cream to take the blue tinge off your limbs.

Loccitane

L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Cream

(€39) The peony fragrance transforms this moisturiser into something indulgent; it is light and creamy, sinks in well and is perfect for use under makeup.

Plus - and this is something that can never be underestimated when it comes to beauty products - the whole Peony range is packaged in such beautiful pink jars and bottles that they will make you feel truly pampered.

Nivea

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Firming Q10

(€4.70) Great for those busy mornings or just every morning if you are like the rest of the population and would gladly skip the boring chore of body moisturising.

Apply in the shower after you’ve washed off your regular shower gel and your wet skin will absorb the moisture in this cream. Rinse it off and you’re done.

plump up glossy

YSL Plump Up Glossy Stain

(€33 ) Now unfortunately you may not end up with a pout exactly like Lana Del Rey, but these tingly, shiny and long lasting stains do create a temporary plumping effect.

They are moisturising too, I have been applying 200 Rose Nu over dryer feeling lipsticks to give them more softness.

Max Factor

Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm

(€11.49) The trend for colourful lipstick/balm hybrids pleases me greatly and these little sticks can be layered up from barely there after one coat to denser colour if you keep going.

I found I couldn’t stop smushing my lips together because they felt so soft and the nine strong shade range means there is one to suit every taste.

Estee lauder

Estee Lauder Little Black Primer

(€24.50) A product with multiple uses always gets my vote. Most primers are white but as this one is black you can use it on its own; under your regular mascara for extra volume; and to top up and refresh mascara half way through the day without any caking or crumbling.

This is a more subtle product than Urban Decay Resurrection that will suit those who do not like their eyes to look too full on. Great brush too.
