A high street fashion collection for art lovers

To celebrate their sponsorship of an Agnes Martin retrospective in the Guggenheim, COS has created a capsule collection inspired by the works of the artist, and Dublin will be one of only 10 stores in Europe to carry the collection.

The collection will fit nicely into COS’s familiar look and feel, with influences like minimalism and grids. COS Creative Director Karin Gustafsson explains, “The opportunity to create this collection whilst exploring the subtle reinvention of classic silhouettes has been fantastic. The minimal pieces created form an effortless, artistic capsule offering”.

Known for her subtle, evocative canvases that feature delicate pencilled lines and grids; Agnes Martin is one of the preeminent painters of the twentieth century. Filling the Guggenheim’s rotunda, the exhibition includes paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture, celebrating the full scope of Martin’s practice.

Gustafsson said of the project, “It is a privilege to sponsor an exhibition of Martin’s work. The incredible richness and tactility of her work has always inspired our fabrics and designs; her use of subtle colour and dedication to her technique and style elevates apparently simple lines and grids to something extraordinary.”

The collection launches on October 7th 2016.
