PIN-UP GIRLS

PIN-UP GIRLS

There was no gaunt heroin-chic look around in the 1940s and 1950s, when Peruvian artist Alberto Vargas created the first Esquire pin-up girls. The Varga Girl was voluptuous, flirtatious and perfectly groomed. With its Bombshell promotion, Brown Thomas in Dublin is embarking on a month of cosmetics events inspired by the alluring creatures whom Vargas created. Today, Stila make-up artist Jason Haun will be in the shop giving one-to-one consultations, while, next Friday and Saturday, Mac’s senior make-up artist James Molloy will be on hand. Prescriptives make-up artist Gary Brunker will be in the shop from March 21st to 26th and Chanel consultants will be doing hand massages and red nail varnish applications at their counter during the event. Call 01-6056666 for information on further events. Nicoline Greer
