Aengus Ó Snodaigh is Sinn Féin’s chief whip and spokesman on culture, heritage and the Gaeltacht. A longtime Sinn Féin stalwart in the Dáil, Ó Snodaigh is a combative debater. He topped the poll in the 2020 general election with almost double the quota, receiving 17,015 first preferences.
During the last Dáil term he championed issues such as working conditions and the recruitment and retention crisis in the Defence Forces, and consistently raised concerns from current and ex-personnel over the use of the anti-malaria drug Lariam.

SEE FULL RESULTSHe also introduced a number of Private Member’s Bills, including a Bill which sought to enshrine neutrality in the Constitution.
A TD since 2002, he is a long-term campaigner on social issues, and an Irish speaker and enthusiast. Before he moved into full-time politics he worked for Bord na Gaeilge. He is from Ballyfermot and married with three children.
