It all happens tonight
St Michael’s College Amnesty Group are holding a show this very day to raise money for Amnesty International’s mental health campaign, “Let’s Make it Happen”. Music from Rhob Cunningham and Little Green Cars, comedy from Eleanor Tiernan (below) and a string of slam poets are all performing, making this a show not to be missed.
It all takes place this evening between 6-10pm in St Michael’s College, Ailesbury Road, Dublin 4. Tickets are €7 on the door.

Build a Bank
The AIB Build a Bank Challenge national final is taking place in Croke Park on May 7th. TY students from across Ireland have already taken part in eight regional finals, with one school chosen from each. The finalists will now put their school bank before a panel of judges to see who comes out as the best in Ireland.

Eco-Unesco
Students registered for Eco-Unesco’s Young Environmentalist Awards 2009 are currently biting their nails as the judges continue to assess each group’s final projects throughout March and April. The projects, which aim “to protect the local environment, prevent environmental damage and promote environmental awareness”, will soon be shortlisted by the judges, and the lucky ones will be invited to display at the annual Young Environmentalist Showcase which takes place at the National Greener Ireland event in the RDS on May 22nd-24th.

Fighting Words
Ireland’s very own creative workshop for writers of all ages teamed up with the Young Urban Arts group over the Easter break to provide workshops in scriptwriting for students. The provision of workshops outside term time is going to be a regular occurrence at Fighting Words and they will also be putting on summer programmes in 2009.
