Caithfidh an t-éan a nead féin a dheisiú

Cad é mar a tháinig na héin slán as an tsneachta?

Oiread chéanna le daoine eile, bhí na beathadáin éan á líonadh againn cúpla uair sa lá le linn na drochaimsire. Bhí na héin ag ithe leo gan stad gan staonadh.

Tuigeann tú dóibh. Bhí an talamh faoi shneachta agus gan teacht acu ar bhia áit ar bith eile.

Chonaic mé druideanna, gealbhain, ríthe rua, glasóg shráide, spideog, lon dubh, meatáin ghorma, smólach, cága agus colm sa ghairdín le linn na stoirme.

Leoga, is é an t-aon éan nach bhfaca mé ná an snag breac. Seans gur aimsigh an snag breac áit seascair dó féin agus nach raibh fonn air dul amach.

Is maith mar a d’fhóir sin do na héin eile. A luaithe agus a thagann an snag breac, imíonn na héin bheaga. Ní hamhlaidh an scéal agus é ar iarraidh.

Réitigh na héin eile le chéile – a bheag nó a mhór. Bhí cuid acu greamaithe de na beathadáin in airde agus cuid acu ag ithe ar a suaimhneas ar an tsneachta in íochtar.

Aontas na nÉan a bhí ann, más mian leat, thuas agus thíos. Mar sin féin, cad é mar a thagann rudaí chomh beag leo slán as doineann? Cad é an dóigh a dtugann áras chomh bídeach le nead foscadh le linn gála?

An nead féin ní thagann slán i gcónaí, ámh. Chonaic mé préachán agus craobhóg ina ghob aige. Ní raibh sé leis an éadáil a scaoileadh saor.

Bhí nead le deisiú, ba léir.
