Císte líomóide agus ríocht ríthe rua

Turas lae i nGleann Dá Loch

An rí rua

An rí rua

Tá dúil ag an rí rua i gcíste líomóide. Sea, léigh tú sin mar ba cheart – tá dúil ag an rí rua i gcíste líomóide.

Seans mór nach mbeidh an t-eolas sin le fáil i leabhar ar bith ar éin ach sin an fáth a léann tú an colún seo, le rudaí nua a fhoghlaim.

Ní raibh a fhios agam féin go raibh dúil ag an rí rua i gcíste líomóide go dtí go raibh mé ar turas lae i nGleann Dá Loch. Tá Gleann Dá Loch ar áit de na háiteanna is áille in Éirinn.

Ag spaisteoireacht liom fríd iarsmaí ár gcultúir a bhí mé agus mé ag éisteacht le teangacha an domhain ag na cuairteoirí – Fraincis, Sualainnis, Gearmáinis, Iodáilis, Spáinnis agus, cinnte, Meiriceánais!

Ag tógáil sosa bhí mé nuair a tháinig an rí rua agus sheas, go dalba, ar an chathaoir in aice liom. Stán an rí rua go dána orm. Eagla ná eagla romham ní raibh air. An raibh dáimh ag an rí rua leis an rud rua seo d’iriseoir?

Bhí mé ag ól caifé agus ag ithe císte líomóide. Chaith mé grabhróg den chíste ar an urlár agus síos leis an rí rua. Tháinig an dara rí rua, an tríú ceann, an ceathrú ceann...

Bhí naoi gcinn de ríthe rua ann sa deireadh. (An dtig liom ríocht ríthe rua a thabhairt air sin?) Shlog siad an císte siar, rinne cinnte de nach raibh grabhróg ar bith eile ann agus d’imigh leo.

Seans mór go bhfuil siad sa tóir ar thuilleadh císte líomóide i measc na gcloch i nGleann Dá Loch.

Tá dúil ag an rí rua i gcíste líomóide. PÓM
