Cnuasach nua filíochta le Declan Collinge

Leabhar úr le seoladh Dé Céadaoine

Seolfaidh Coiscéim cnuasach nua filíochta le Declan Collinge, Athchuairt ar an Éigse, Dé Céadaoin, 30ú Lúnasa ag 7pm, sa Siopa Leabhar, 6 Sráid Fhearchair, Baile Átha Cliath.

Bíonn Collinge ag scríobh go minic sa chúinne bheag seo den Irish Times ach is fada i mbun pinn é mar fhile fosta agus filíocht foilsithe i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla aige. Tháinig sé ar an tsaol in Inse Chór i mBaile Átha Cliath sa bhliain 1949 agus d’fhreastail sé ar Choláiste na hOllscoile, Baile Átha Cliath. Tá BA, MA agus PhD aige agus d’imir Máirtín Ó Direáin tionchar mór ar a chuid filíochta.

Scríobhann Collinge i réamhrá Athchuairt ar an Éigse: “Seanfhocal nach gcloistear rómhinic ar na laethanta seo ná ‘cuairt an lao ar an athbhuaile,’ a chiallaíonn athchuairt chumhach. Ina aiste cháiliúil ‘Tradition and the Individual Talent,’ mhaígh TS Eliot nach raibh a chiall féin ag aon fhile amháin; gur bhain oiread dá chiall leis na filí a chuaigh roimhe; thairis sin go raibh de dhualgas ar an bhfile nua-aimseartha cuimhneamh ar an dtraidisiún filíochta a chuaigh roimhe agus é a chur san áireamh.”

Is é cuspóir Collinge comhairle Eliot a leanstan. Tá ábhar sa leabhar nua ó Chatullus na Laidine go Séamas Dall Mac Cuarta, ó Bhaudelaire go Paz agus Yevtushenko.

I gcásanna áirithe spreagann an saothar bunúil macalla ina chuid dánta féin; i gcásanna eile is athchruthú é a dhán ar an dán bunúsach.
