takes as its starting point

the parlous state of contemporary Ireland in the wake of the consumerism and contradictions that came with the Celtic Tiger and the abuse scandals that have alienated many people from the Catholic Church. As a result, Garrigan says, most people are alienated from traditional senses of the sacred in their lives.

Sacred aims to reintroduce the sacred with a culinary installation by Maison Djeribi; elemental paintings by Bernadette Kiely; slow-motion dance videos by David Michalek (pictured); Aileen Lambert’s work on “breath”; and ceramics by Katherine West.

Tomorrow at 2pm, Garrigan will guide an informal discussion on the theme. Everyone is welcome.
