Russian icons are not usually the kind of items seen at antiques fairs in this country, but a number of them will be on display over the weekend, courtesy of La Tabard Icon & Art Gallery in Booterstown, Co Dublin. The event takes place today and tomorrow in the Industries Hall of the RDS, Dublin, from 11 a.m. and among the pieces being offered is this 19th century Russian icon representing the Mother of God of Intercession.

Carol O'Connor from Adare, Co Limerick, will be bringing an abundance of Regency workmanship such as a rosewood card table with brass inlay and a set of mahogany dining chairs. Moycullen Village Antiques from Co Galway will show an Irish Georgian gilt console table and a set of eight brass-inlaid mahogany dining chairs, while from Adare, Co Limerick, George Stacpoole is to offer a papier machΘ box with a view of the 1853 Dublin Exhibition on its lid, made by Jennes and Bettridge.
