AMHARCLANN de hIde have announced a fascinating season

AMHARCLANN de hIde have announced a fascinating season. In July they will premiere two specially commissioned translations of Synge plays, The Tinker's Wedding and Riders To The Sea. Wonderful news is the collaboration of director Kathy McArdle with Eilis Ni Dhuibne on another play, after the glorious success of Dan na mBan Tri Thine last year. The new one explores the lives of two Kilkenny women who emigrated to Wales in the latter years of the Famine, and the show will go up in Spring of next year.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the season of plays now running at Galway's Town Hall Theatre. The Abbey's production of Frank McGuinness's Observe The Sons of Ulster Marching Towards The Somme is there until Saturday, Rough Magic's production of Stewart Parker's Pentecost runs from Wednesday next until Saturday May 11th, and the Abbey's production of Synge's The Well Of The Saints runs from May 14th to May 18th.
