One of the most expensive European productions ever made, Asterix at the Olympic Games, which cost €78 million, will have its world premiere in Paris on Sunday.

Clovis Cornillac (from A Very Long Engagement) takes over from Christian Clavier in the title role of this, the third live action feature in the Asterix series (following Asterix & Obelix vs Caesar and Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra). Gérard Depardieu returns as Obelix, and the cast includes Alain Delon (pictured) as Jules Cesar, Benoît Poelvoorde as Brutus, the late Jean-Pierre Cassel as Panoramix, and cameos from sportsmen Michael Schumacher as Schumix and Zinédine Zidane as Numérodix (Number 10).
