The title of the new movie from Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha is It's A Wonderful Afterlife, which prompted the fear that she's committing sacrilege by rehashing Frank Capra's classic, It's a Wonderful Life.

Those fears have been allayed by the news that Chanda’s movie is a comedy of an Indian mother obsessed with getting her daughter married. Now shooting, the film features Sally Hawkins, Shabana Azmi, Jimi Mistry, Zoe Wanamaker and Mark Addy.
