"Honestly, I can't say I was fully expecting the show to be renewed – hoped like hell of course, but expected nothing," producer Elton Mullally told The Ticket.

"Everyone knows that the Irish music industry and Irish music fans have been crying out for a show like this since the days of No Disco, and we are thrilled to get the gig." Interested acts should e-mail elton@tuskproductions.ie

Also renewed for a second series is TG4's Ceol ar an Imeall, hosted by journalist Una Mullally. Fight Like Apes and The Cast of Cheers are among the live performers, while there will also be interviews with international acts such as Vampire Weekend and showcases of work by 10 Irish music video directors.

The renowned Other Voices is also expected to return for its ninth season. It will be recorded in Dingle, Co Kerry this December.
