Washed Out: a real Georgia peach

You could describe Ernest Greene's tunes as peachy

You could describe Ernest Greene's tunes as peachy. After all, his dreamy, blurry synth-pop did begin life in the middle of a peach farm in rural Georgia. Greene started to put his sound together in his bedroom in his folks' house, with peach trees as far as the eye could see beyond his window.

It didn't take long for the world beyond the farm to find out about Greene's work as Washed Out. Indeed, the pair of EPs that have appeared to date - Life of Leisurefor Mexican Summer and High Timesfor Mirror Universe - were

only recorded in the last couple of months. The excited buzz about the kid making these wistful, psychedelic sounds really is that brand new.

Before he started Washed Out, Greene had done some bits and pieces with various bands in South Carolina, but it was nothing to write home about. It was only when he went back to the farm and started to work on his own that Washed Out's soundscapes really found their momentum.
