Dublin Lasses: Mary Corcoran, Aoife O’Connor and Majella O’Beirne

South Sligo whistle and flute player and singer, Gunning is known for her spirited, lively playing and her richly populated song book. Tonight she's guest of An Góilín singers club, where she will air songs, some taken from her solo album, The Lakes of Sligo. Widely travelled and highly accomplished as a teacher, Gunning will draw deep from the well for tonight's unaccompanied song performance.

Kent-born Edey is an exceptional musician. A master of both the guitar and the accordion, his musical sensibilities stretch from the wildest West Kerry polka to Bach cantatas. Edey's albums, How Do You Know? and The Sleeping Tunes shine a light on the depth and breadth of his musicianship. Deeply influenced by the playing of Ed Boyd, Steve Cooney and Django Reinhart, Edey's self-effacing manner and sharp wit add further to his live performances. Tonight's gig is a warm up for Cavan's renowned NYAH festival which kicks off on March 9th.

Mayo/Monaghan harp and pipes duo, Kelly and Ó Duinnchinn bring a wealth of tunes to a beautiful venue, many taken from their recent very fine album, Ar Lorg Na Laochra: On The Shoulders Of Giants. Many of their tunes are borrowed from the collections of the 17th–19th centuries. Modest and low key, these are two musicians who wear their refined musical talents lightly. Not to be missed.
