Crawdaddy, Dublin Tomorrow 11pm 10
Those who've been digging Azari III's debut album will have had this show highlighted on their phones for some time. Aside from an old-fashioned, almost nostalgic buzz for house music's previous highs, the Toronto-based quartet infuse sticky grooves with glee. Early singles Hungry for the Powerand Reckless (With Your Love)saw producers Christian Farley and Alphonse Lanza and vocalists Fritz Helder and Cedric Gasiada mining a rich seam of possibilities.
As the album shows, whether they're dealing in seductive purrs that tickle your feet and ears ( Into the Night) or thumping, majestic energy ( Indigo), Azari III are capable of producing much magic. They were one of the highlights at this year's Lovebox fest in London, a good omen for their Irish debut.
Can't see that? Catch this:Kormac's Big Band showcase some new tunes (Fri, Dublin); Yello start their fifth-birthday celebrations with Motor City Drum Ensemble (Sat, Belfast); and there's a smashing home-grown electronica triple bill with Solar Bears, SertOne and Reid (Sun, Cork)
