This week AILBHE MALONEis intrigued by cutlery
TRACK OF THE WEEK: 212 by Azealia Banks. We've been meaning to feature this lass for a while now (of course On The Record beat us to it, thanks Mr Carroll), but with her track 212 causing a storm (there's been a legal dispute about clearing samples used) now's as good a time as any. She's a 19-year-old singer/ songwriter/MC from Brooklyn whose flow is as tight as Missy's. Add that to some serious vocal chops and a filthy mind, and you've got a winner. 212 is definitely not safe to listen to at work. And, FYI, around this time last year, we were hyping Nicki Minaj, so take our word on this one...
Poor FrankieSaturdays has been having a hard time – she's just checked herself into rehab. The Saturday's spokesman has confirmed that Frankie hasn't entered a clinic due to drink, drugs or cosmetic surgery, but no further details have emerged. The rest of the group support Frankie 100 per cent. Rochelle commented that "she's not very well and you can't even have a flu or a runny nose before people start saying you've left [the group]." Una added that people should respect Frankie's health and her road to recovery. We're sending good vibes your way, Franks.
We're sureyou're all as interested as we are in what pop stars actually eat, so we were delighted when a full report of Katy Perry's dining adventures surfaced after her gig in Sheffield. Speaking to the Yorkshire Post (were defs taking out a subscription), Justin Rowntree, owner of Silversmith's Pub gave a Perry blow-by-blow. "Katy was very interested in how we got our name Silversmith's and was intrigued to hear about Sheffield's history of cutlery manufacturing. Then she tucked into a meal. We first introduced her to Yorkshire pudding. She thought it was funny that we ate pudding as starters but once she got her head round it Katy loved it."
Wait, theres more! “Then she had a Whirlow Hall Farm meat pie and Henderson’s Relish gravy which she devoured.” Well now, well know what to cook for Katy when she comes over to ours for tea next. As long as she doesn’t expect a history lesson about eating implements on the side.
