AILBHE MALONEwas and is an inspirational creative hero
TRACK OF THE WEEK
Lovesickby Emily Osment
Look! It’s another Disney alum doing the slick electropop starlet thing! Except this one is pretty awesome. Emily Osment (below) is probably best known for playing Miley Cyrus’s best friend on Hannah Montana, but she’s launching her pop career with a proper belter. Lovesick is like a slutty Robyn, or Britney with a few Bacardi Breezers in her. Amazing.
Speaking of Hannah Montana, we’re happy to report that all seems to be well again in the Cyrus household. Tish and Billy Ray – parents to Miley – filed for divorce at the end of last year, but today withdrew their petition. Tish posted on her Facebook: “Big thanks to all of our family, friends, and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been. Much love to all of you guys! You’re the BEST.”
Hurrah! A Cyrus family once again.
Who knew that Mark Westlife was so avant-garde? Speaking to the Independent he enthused about performance artist Leigh Bowery. “To me, Leigh was and is an inspirational creative hero. His creations at times had the same effect that Jackson’s moonwalk might have on first look. Incredible and mind-blowing. I love delving into his work and thinking ‘how did he do that?’ or just ‘wow’. He expressed himself through fashion and performance in the most extreme way, without fear.” So, can we expect a new look for the next Westlife album?
Could Sarah Harding be the first Mum Aloud? Following her trip to South Africa she told the Sun that “I’d definitely adopt one day. If you can give a child a better life then why not? I’m in a good position to do that, so who knows?” However, she thinks she’ll wait until things quieten down, adding that “it puts me off a bit now that it’s this whole trend thing. I’d love to help but I don’t want to be labelled as another Brad or Angelina.”
