TRACK OF THE WEEK:Runaway by Mr Little Jeans. After the Beyoncé and Arcade Fire covers of last year, it's good to see that Mr Little Jeans is back to releasing original material.
With a Sony record deal under her belt, she’s knocked up a premium vidjoe for Runaway. Visually, it’s a bit Gattaca meets Tron, while sonically, Mr Little Jean’s trademark shimmering synths combine with a blissed-out vocal that makes you want to run to, rather than away from it.
* Frankie Saturdays hasopened up about why she went into rehab at the end of last year. Speaking to Glamour, she explained that she'd entered for help with her depression. "I felt that I was worthless, that I was ugly, that I didn't deserve anything. It all started when I was about 15 or 16. I used to stay in bed a lot and had no motivation. I thought I was just being lazy."
The impetus to seek help came when her footballer boyfriend bought the wrong type of yoghurt, she continued. “Suddenly my illness had control over me. I got upset because Wayne hadn’t bought the right yogurts. I managed to convince myself he didn’t know me at all. It set off this spiral of negative thinking – if I disappeared, it wouldn’t matter to anyone. In fact, it would make everybody’s life easier. I felt that I was worthless, that I was ugly, that I didn’t deserve anything.”
Raise a glass to Franks, you lot, and let’s hope she continues to feel better.
* In news thatwill shock nobody, Nicki Minaj has been thinking of making a film about her alter-ego, Roman. Minaj declared: "I've been just doing some things – writing like a story and hopefully I'll make it into an actual movie. I did a little snippet on the Grammys so that people could get to know the character Roman a little bit more and see how in-depth he is."
We’d make a joke, but we’re totally going to see it, should it transpire. We’re brainstorming titles already. Does Minaj a Trois work?
