Icelandic vim:Jonsi Birgisson of Sigur Rós is to release an album in March. The Icelander released the album Riceboy Sleeps with his partner Alex this year, but Go will be his debut solo proper. He also plans to tour it worldwide.

Kinks to be ironed:Julien Temple, who directed the famous Sex Pistols mockumentary The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle is planning a feature film about The Kinks. You've Really Got Me will focus on the relationship between Ray and Dave Davies, and is currently in the planning stages.

Marr movie magic:Johnny Marr is to turn his hand to writing film scores. The guitarist will compose the music to The Big Bang, a detective film starring Snoop Dogg, Antonio Banderas and Sam Elliott, due for release next year.
