Two electronic musicians have founded a project they hope will become a permanent fixture, and perhaps even extend across the Irish Sea at some point. Ronan Carroll, who operates under the Tenaka pseudonym, and Ruairí Lynch (Bantum) came up with the idea for a tour when they played a gig together last year. They were eager to involve more electronic musicians who similarly incorporate a visual aspect into their show, and so a loose collective dubbed Lightbox was born.

"We want to break new ground with this tour – not only in showcasing new Irish electronic music, but the vibrant scene that's built up around it," Carroll says. The pair have launched a FundIt campaign to raise money for the tour at the end of next month, and rewards for donations include the opportunity to play your own DJ set at one of the dates.

There will also be masterclasses at each gig by the other acts taking part – SertOne, Monto, Reid and Simon Bird – as well as visuals by Feel Good Lost and DJ sets by Nialler9, Jim Carroll (of this parish) and others.
