The second bank holiday weekend in a row means another bonanza in clubland. In the capital, Beatyard tops the bill with lots going on in the Twisted Pepper and Bernard Shaw, including LTJ Bukem laying down the drum ’n’ bass gospel for the first time in the city in years (Fri); Star Slinger’s mesmeric hip-hop (Fri); and a triple whammy of Modeselektor, Joy Orbison and Martyn (Sun). Other city attractions include Toddla T’s Sheffield skank and extreme turntablism from Kid Koala (both Sun).
Elsewhere, the excellent Sibin festival takes up residency in Slane, Co Meath with Reeko, Giles Armstrong, Legowelt, The Infomatics, Enno and others at large (Sat). Superstar DJ David Guetta brings the big breakdowns to the King's Hall in Belfast (Mon), while fans of Japanese Popstars have two chances to hear tunes from their forthcoming Controlling Your Allegiancealbum (Fri, Dublin; Sat, Belfast).
