Enniscorthy musician Steven O’Brien might have a profile lower than a snail’s trail, but he obviously has Wreckless Eric records in his collection, which makes him a good bloke in my book. Adhering to the principles of “if it ain’t broke give it agood kicking with a Doc Marten boot anyway just to make
sure", O'Brien rips through fundamental punk/pop tunes such as Clothes, Don't Care Anymore, Bits & Bobs, I'm in Retail, Automatic Doorsand Let's Grow Old Togetherin a style that blends social realism, frustration, anger, and heartfelt words to girlfriends and mothers. If the album fails the exam paper titled Superb Production Techniques, at least the songs have the advantage of not just coming from the heart but also highlighting O'Brien's deliciously savage points of view.
