LD50 Part 2 Working Class***
As he demonstrated on the first LD50 set from last year, Dubliner Paul Alwright is keenly aware of how space and dramatics can make a rapper's heavyweight words really hit the target. The gnarly production nous of Alwright's foil, GI, will hook you from the start as the pair create smokey, dark, dense beats that perfectly encapsulate the claustrophobic, menacing world that Lethal Dialect seeks to evoke. When it comes to the actual verbals, Alwright has the insight and expertise to match that brilliantly constructed sonic, stoner-like murk with lines about Dublin city life and strife on tracks such as Make My Routeand Black Magic. There are times when Alwright's attempts don't quite match his ambitions and the flow fails to make a mark. Still, it's an undoubtedly vast improvement from where he was on the mic the first time around. lethaldialect.bandcamp.com
