Earl Sweatshirt isn't the only sidekick taking a wander into the limelight and overshadowing a crew boss in the process. Darold Ferguson Jr is part of the A$AP Mob and, on this showing, has musical swagger and lyrical brawn by the ton. By contrast with A$AP Rocky's more flashier demeanour, Ferguson channels a darker side throughout and isn't afraid to plug into more rugged rhymes and tip his cap to the underground rather than the pop charts. Sounding uncannily like a 1990s rerub in places, Trap Lord is full of bright moments when Ferguson's ideas come magnificently to fruition, as on Let It Go and the superb Shabba. Still, there are a few instances when he could have done with more time to hone his axe before swinging it. We'll definitely be hearing from this young buck again. twitter.com/ASAPFerg
