Soprano Miriam Murphy is back in Dublin to sing Wagner again, after her triumph (pictured) in Wide Open Opera’s Tristan und Isolde last autumn. Murphy is singing the Wesendonck Lieder, the polyamorous composer’s settings of texts by Mathilde Wesendonck, the object of his affections in the winter of 1857.

The programme, conducted by Matthias Bamert, also includes the Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde (again with Murphy), the Ride of the Valkyries, the overtures to Rienzi and Tannhäuser, and the prelude to Die Meistersinger.
