How do you get to the gig – limo, taxi, walking?Limo, of course.

What's the best gig you've been to, and why?Mavado, Gappy Ranks, Gyptian and Paul McCartney at the 100 Club.

And the worst?Supertramp in Virginia.

Favourite and least favourite venues? The Armadillo in Hawaii is my favourite; the worst was a New Year's Eve gig we did in Romania. It was outside and the temperature was minus 12.

Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs? There have been a lot over the years, but Sharon Stone and Paul McCartney are two of the most famous.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment?Falling through a hole onstage during a gig in Finsbury Park, London.

What's your crowd-pleasing number? Red Red Wine.

Chatting between songs – good or bad?Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Groupies – would you?No, I'm happily married nowadays.

How many roadies does it take to change your lightbulbs? There's 17 of us on the road. I haven't seen any of them change a lightbulb, though.

Have you a special stage wardrobe? Not really – no Lady Gaga outfits, anyway.

Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?I love meeting the fans. There seems never enough time to fit everything in on gig days, but we do as many meets as we can.

Any stage tips? All you owe the audience is a good performance – the best you can give.

What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?Nasty phlegm.

Who's invited to your aftershow party? The band, usually.

What's your best tour story? How much time do you have?
