Yes, it’s a very silly name, and certainly prone to clever- clogs types making fun of it (zips are so much better, indeed!). But that kind of thing doesn’t seem to phase out this Bristol duo. John Power and Andrew Hung met at school in the British town and, through their love of Aphex Twin and Mogwai, embarked on a collaboration that initially saw the unit compose soundtrack music.

In a bid to irritate the Noise Abatement Society, however, early soundtrack work was replaced with what has been described as “ear-purging” electronic/drone noise, which immediately marked down the pair as definite ones to watch. You can see and hear what all the fuss is about this weekend.
